    36v Lithium Trolling Motor Battery?

Any of you run any lithium's? I was thinking about getting a 36v Lithium marine battery to replace my 3 group 31 Optima Blue tops.
What mfg would you recommend? Will 1 of the 36v lithiums last as long as 3 12 volts?

    Suggestions appreciated!

I have a 36v Lithium Pro, I fish mostly tidal rivers and so far it's been great...

    I don't recommend a single 36 v battery if you are a tournament angler...I run 3 of the 36 v 30 ah Lithium Pros batteries...If you fish tournaments go with at least the 2 x 36 v 30 ah battery set up.

I also recommend the two battery set up. I was all set to purchase this coming spring, but a new house in GA changed my mine lol.

Can someone explain why you are not recommending 1 single 36V? Why the 2 x 36 x v30?

It's only 30 ah....Basically, it's not strong enough for an avid tournament angler...By going to a two battery set up you are doubling your ah to 60...60 will be perfect for most everyone.

Holy crap on a stick, I didn't know that a battery could cost that much! That would be the bee's knees as far as space and weight though.

40ah might not be enough juice for a long fishing day. I use (3) 12 volt RELiON 80ah batteries in a series. So far they've been great.

I agree with Rick...Unless you are just a casual fisherman I would recommend 60-100 ah...The on board DC stealth type charger does help though.

This was the response I received

The Optima blue group 31 is 155reserve minutes at 25A. The single M3140-36 is 92 reserve minutes. However it is general practice to discharge the Optima only 50% depth ofdischarge meaning that you effectively only have 77.5 usable reserveminutes. In contrast you can safely use all of the Lithium Pros. Therefore we would recommend replacing the three Optima batteries with one M3140-36.

Keep in mind the M1236 DCcharger also adds energy to the M3140-36 from the outboard during the day, further adding to your fishing time with the M3140-36. The amount of thatadded energy depends on your 12V loads and the outboard run time but mostanglers see an additional 18 minutes of reserve capacity from using the DCcharger. This brings your M3140-36 with DC charger to effectively 110reserve minutes on average. (Your results will vary.)

Well, it comes with a charger that taps into the engine so when the engine is running, its charging the battery.

It's your call man...I don't doubt that information to be accurate...

    Just FYI Aaron Martens uses the 2 x 36 v 40 ah batteries...So he has 80 ah...

If you fish slow or sit down a lot...40 ah may work just fine for you.

There's a lot of rivers here in MN so sometimes I fish the rivers/currents all day. Also, lot of trolling motor lakes only that I fish in.
I could possibly go this route also

Go with that one (2 x 36 v 30 ah with dc charger)....I started with that set up and I am really hard on my trolling batteries....The only time I ran out of juice was in practice when I was on the trolling motor all day marking bedding fish. I didn't run out of juice until late in the afternoon either and NEVER ran out of juice during a tournament. I think that set up will work for most all tournament guys.

I added a third battery to mine to ensure that I would never run out of power.

    They're actually 2 x 36v 60ah each with a total of 120ah when in parallel
