With a good seat, 300 a day can easily be done.

Speaking of seats. When I bought my GL1800 Goldwing the seat pretty much gave up after about 3-4 hours on the bike and it felt like I was sitting on the seat pan and I'm not a huge guy 5'10" 230. So 2000 miles on the bike I ordered a seat from Diamond Seats and couldn't be happier. That and my Windbender windshield system are my two favorite upgrades to a great machine. Wish I would have bought one a long time ago but my Venture was a nice piece too. Key to distance is comfort and being able to reposition your feet. When I did the bama trip when I was young I had what they call highway bars. I was alone but I used the driver pags, passenger pags and the highway bars during my ride. It kept the blood moving and changed the pressure on my butt too and that seems to be another key to long distance riding.

By the end of my 10 hr day I was switching back and forth between the highway pegs and the floorboards. I looked like one of those Russian guys doing that squatting leg kick dance thing that they do. Couldn't keep my leg in one place more than a couple of minutes.

Not sure what you ride but I put those Kury transformer passenger boards on our Wing for the wife. They have a peg type deal that flips up for another foot position for her and she used them and it helps her to on those longer rides. Kury is pretty proud of them like anything else but they do work and help.

Some of you will probably get a kick out of this: I can go riding on my Goldwing and basically many of the HD riders don't even wave at me while meeting them on the road. I then go riding on my HD and the harley riders , almost all of them knock themselves out waving at me! It doesn't bother me, just find it amusing. Go Figure!

The most ones that don't wave back really just don't get it.

It not about what you ride just ride!

I'm just the opposite. I hardly wave at anybody.

Come the first few weeks of warm weather in the spring it really does get kind of OLD. Sometimes you can barely keep your left hand on the grip. It has become such a habit that I start to do it before I even realize it.

1800 miles in 2 days, Pocatello, ID to Benton, AR 750/950 at age 60 on a Honda ST1100. Many 600+ days with one 600 mile day with 300 miles in 36 degree rain (Ft Worth, TX to Arkadelphia, AR). High sided at 70mph back in Feb 2012 and that SLOWED my riding way down.
