Ordered my new Tin Boat!

I placed an order this week for a 2016 Ranger RT188!



I ordered it with the Merc 115 4S, a Fortrex 80 TM, 4" static set-back, SS prop, passenger console and several other options. I placed orders separately for two HDS-9 Gen 2 Touch units and Precision Sonar brackets for the bow and console.

The build could take 10-12 weeks, though it might be done sooner. In the meantime I've got to build a detached garage out back for the boat and my man cave.

Congrats. You are going to love this boat. I get compliments all the time at boat ramps. It's a fisherman's dream with the trolling motor down. Big enough to ride heavy water safely and small enough to fish tight quaters like docks and shore lines (my favorite). Enjoy!

Could not have said it better myself. Mine is 2 years old now and I have used it a lot and trailered it a lot and have not been disappointed at all. You can tell because I still own it. If I was not very pleased with how it performs and fishes, I would have gotten rid of it and bought something else. And that is the truth!! I won't own a boat or a truck that I don't like for very long.

I predict you will be very happy with it. Nice move.

I have fished in a boat with black carpet that was pretty hot everywhere and on the feet and hands.... I know the RT has a gray carpet and not black. I can't remember if I have ever fished out of a solid black boat. I believe if the gunwale was painted black and I bet it is, that it would be pretty hot to the touch on a bright sunny day. The burgundy/maroon (not the bright red) color that they have is one I like as well as the silver. The black is beautiful indeed but I would consider the hot metal areas you might touch.

I think you have picked out a very nice boat and set it up with excellent accessories. If you are still in the middle of the process, I would recommend thinking about ordering it without batteries and add your own maintenance free type such as the Optima or another brand with similar characteristics.
