i have a 26 four blade hoss hyperdrive that i turn 6900, but was told that the 25 promax ran like a 26. it looks like my best bet is going to be to find one close by and run it

probably want a 26 for sure.
If you have a stock limiter the 25 hydro will be all over it quick.
I could turn my 25 hydro 7800 easy.
But it fired out of the hole!!
Run a 25 then. Gets up faster ,shallower and pulls harder than a 26 or 27
Didn't notice in my 2003 with smaller props but on my xb21 I did...pulled really hard to 6300/6400ish. With a 25 p prop on the xb21 I pretty much had to be empty to get to 7k with it.
i found a 25 promax for sale not far from me that I'm going pickup this evening, so hopefully this weekend i will get to try it out
i have a 200 promax with slight mods, the most i turn it is about 7000, my motor will never see 10000 thats just what limiter is set at, there are guys that use their pro stock motors to cruise or fish with but those motors only see short burst around 9 or 10 grand when they race, fishing or cruising i would think no more than 7 or 8 grand
I had a couple of 225 Promax mtrs...1 of them I did a lot of mods on including having the rev limit upped. It soon died of too much air (hole in block).
I also had a 2.5 280 SS A blast to drive but not conducive to tournament fishing. If you ever had to idle very much you never knew when it was going to foul a plug and would not start.
