    Echomap 9X SV screenshots.

Here are some screenshots from my last trip of the season on the bay of Quinty, Lake Ontario, last week. As you can see in some of the screenshots, some areas hold hundreds of 10lbs+ Walleye and lots of bait fish.
Even though the fish was easy to see on 2D and down vu, I still find it very difficult to see them on the Side vu, I know the fish was there,, all over.

I wonder if the new Echomap CHIRP model would improve this situation??

I seriously feel I've been duped by Garmin by purchasing the Echomap early this year, Only if I waited 8 months I would've had the CHIRP model that supports 800khz on down vu and side vu.

I'm hoping Garmin will offer some kind of upgrade to the new options at a reasonable price for the (old) Echomap SV units, If not,,, this is my last Garmin unit

    Cheers!!

Sorry, I can't seem to be able to upload any files right now, I don't know if it's my computer or this site... I'll try later.

everyone has an upgrade cycle...all you have to do is learn it. then you can avoid buying a unit right before a new one comes out

    old thread though

Its too bad that they couldn't give you a box to plug in and have Chirp, Down, and Side. That way your unit doesn't go out of date!!!
