    Rod hook keeper

Zip tie with a screw hole. Under $3.00 for a pack of 10. Some rods don't come with a keeper, some guys don't like the location of the factory keeper. The aftermarket ones that use O rings to secure them are bulky.

I put a single wrap of rubber splicing tape around the blank first to protect it.

Cue the "why didn't I think of that?" theme song. Simply brilliant.

Great idea! Most factory ones are too far up the rods for my liking. Simple, functional, and cheap, the Triple Crown!

Been using those for over 20 years. I have a package of white ones. After you cut the tag end off, file the sharp edges that are left so they won't cut you.
