    Tach not accurate

I have a 2003 Yamaha 225 OX66 on a 395TF. During a night tournament on LOZ where the aerators/recirculation were running all night, as well as the lights, I had to jump-start the motor. Now it seems that the tach reads 1500-2000 rpms higher, especially at hole shot, than normal, but the motor does not appear to be going any harder. Can someone suggest where to look for the problem? Thank you. Randy

(I posted on the Yamaha board, also)

If you want a different circus you have to change the clowns.

    Re: Tach not accurate (Pogo2)

Not really sure. Low voltage issues can cause some crazy things to happen. If you didn't have the battery tested you might do that. Seems strange but it might be a good place to start since everything was working ok before.
