I have helix 10 mega si g2n and a helix 10 chrip gps g3n units mounted on the dash. The g3n is connected to a new dual band thru hull ducer for high speed and the units are networked through a 5 port switch. A couple of questions. As both the thru hull 2d and mega si ducer are stern mounted and very close to one anouther, will they interfere? I am getting almost no di return but si is fine.. will a y connector resolve this issue? When i use the new in hull transducer on the mega si unit for 2d via the network i get a boat load of vertical line interference on the 2d and di screens.

You should use the 9 M SIDB Y cable and connect both transducers to the SI unit. Turn Sonar OFF with the CHIRP unit and share all data from the SI unit==no cross-talk.

On the helix 9 g3 there are 6 screws that hold the transducer to the mount, what are the 2 holes for right in front of where the cable goes into the ducer? Do they need screws put in them?

No. Those are used when the trolling motor mount is used instead of the transom mount.
I used them with a mount plate I made:

AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter for each unit and an Ethernet cable to go between them. AS EC 20E is the 20' cable.

Then I just link Ultrex to one unit?

If you have iPilot LINK, that is three Ethernet connections. A unit has a single Ethernet port.
To connect LINK and two units together takes more parts.
In addition to the above, you need another Ethernet cable and the AS ETH 5PXG Ethernet Switch. All three devices connect to the Switch.

All versions of Helix 9 are networkable.

No such model as a 9 Gen 1 or N version of it.
The first generation Helix 9 SI model would be Helix 9 SI GPS
Second generation Helix 9 SI model would be Helix 9 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G2N
Third generation Helix 9 SI model would be Helix 9 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N

I don’t see my specific questions answered so I hope I’m not repeating something already covered. I currently have a helix 10 mega si g2n at the console. I plan on adding a g3n mega di to the bow.

    1. If networked can I view all data including si from the transom mount g2n si xducer on the di g3n at the bow?
    2. What do I need to make the transducer that comes in the combo (transom mount) able to be mounted to the trolling motor? Will a transducer saver work? Or do I need to buy the specific tm xducer?
    3. Are there any issues sharing waypoints between the two generations?

thanks in advance for the help.

    1. Yes and the opposite also.

    2. Three choices, get the Humminbird trolling motor mount for the included transom transducer, exchange the included transom DI transducer for the trolling motor model that has the same mount and transducer, or get the Transducer Shield and Saver mount for the included transom DI transducer.
Bottom line the MEGA DI+ transducer is the same no matter which model, just the included mount is different.

    3. No, the data is the same with all three Helix generations.

does the helix not come with down imaging and side scan like the 1199 but rather one or the other

There are three sonar technology versions of Helix in each screen size 5", 7", 8", 9", 10", and 12". Plus there are three generations of Helix models.
The original models, the G2/G2N, and current generation G3/G3N.

    1. Sonar (CHIRP).
    2. Down Imaging.
    3. Side Imaging.

    1. Does 2D sonar only
    2. Does 2D sonar and Down Imaging
    3. Does 2D sonar, Down Imaging, and Side Imaging.

The 1199ci HD SI Combo does 2D sonar, and Side Imaging, with Simulated Down Imaging.
The 1159ci HD DI Combo does 2D sonar, and Down Imaging.
The 1159ci HD Combo does 2D sonar only.
All three of those were the last series with number names in the 10" display size.
    The Helix 12's replaced those.

In all versions you have to purchase the unit that has the technologies you want.

BTW, when discussing any Humminbird unit, include the complete model name, example:
The current 12" display model with Side Imaging is Helix 12 CHRIP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N
The current 12" display model with Down Imaging is Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA DI+ GPS G3N
The current 12" display model with just Sonar is Helix 12 CHIRP GPS G3N

As stated in the previous reply, the whole model name for the 1199 is 1199ci HD SI Combo

How can I tell if my helix 12 g2n di has mega imaging? It doesn’t say it anywhere on the unit itself or when I start it up. New boat, and I’m new to HB. Thanks!

There were 2 models of the Helix 12 DI G2n. One was Mega and one was not. https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.c...irp-di-gps-g2n

    https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.c...ega-di-gps-g2n

The full model should display at startup of the unit or in the system status display.
