Will be running a heavier gauge wire to my electronics up front very soon. Anyone have any knowledge regarding which cord to look for under the driver console that runs to the bow?

Hope you get an answer and it applies to my 198

I ran power to the front deck for the locator that has no other items on it to eliminate any interference. I just fished it from the batteries all the way up front by hand. The rod lockers are big enough to lay in. The factory wires were all zip tied together so they would have been no advantage for me at least.

Most bow panels are the following
1 Gray w/tracer
2 White
3 Black
1-3 Nav light
4 Red
5 Green
6 Blue
4-6 are power trim wires
Orange and black are usually the accessory wires
Most every boat ive worked on has this color code.
Hope this helps, dont try pulling the new in as you pull the old out cause the way they tie stuff in the gunnel you'll have your console unit at the bow.
A while back I was working on running a wire to the rear and I didn't see any string for the front. If all else fails you might want to get you a partner and try a fish tape. If successful leave you some strings. I plan on replacing my Depth finder and if you find a better way let us know.

The way the 188 is and I suspect most all is simpler than I was anticipating. Didn't really need my fish. Could've done it with a coat hanger. Dressed and electrical taped together 12 Gage red and black wire from the console. Spliced and soldered into the power switch on the downside of it. Easily found ground. Soldered the connection at the bow. Turned the unit on and briefly turned all the pumps on. The unit up front never blinked. I'll see how it goes after a few hours of use. The sled is ready, and it be running good after the tinkering I did. Got my water pressure issues resolved, found the culprit. Those little grommets should be included in the full water pump replacement kit.
