My 1997 285PE does it with partner in seat until you get 1/2 trim.

    update..
well after several props and jackplate raising and lowering weight
    distribution etc.it is a small bit better,it also porpoises a lot.Well my
cousin kept saying the other owner must have ran alot of shallow water
because the paint is wore off the bottom back on the back end.Ok..so i
am looking under it today as he said it again,it isn't worn off, someone
has sanded all the gel off down to the glass, and even some glass.i can see
the verticle layer of flake and black gel undercoat on the transom looking up at the bottom.
it is like this all but the very bottom pad v area..where my startos has some
hook made in,that you can see and feel.this one is sanded of totally flat.so
i don't see this problem as being repairabl without alot of money.they did
clear gel it back.clear gel on glass is ugly!

I've owned mine since it was new. I'm on my second motor, never had any issues with leaning. Must be something in the set up.

We had a 2000 21 ss extreme that did the same thing, again once positive trim was applied after holeshot the problem disappeared. Sure would scare people who had never been in a Stratos before around sharp slow corners when there face was near the water!

Motor is probably not level on the boat . Just fixed a friends 201 that was doing the same thing . Jackplat to hull was low 1/4 inch on one side . Leveled it up and no more lean on takeoff .

yes sir.raised the jack plate up on the left side almost 3/4" to get the prop shaft cetered to the keel.
runs like it should now.thought i had posted the results, sorry.

Mine leans. WAY more with a passenger. Gets less the faster and more on plane I am but slow sucks. I've adjusted the trim tab some to the left of center previously and it certainly helped. I may need to do it more to help correct for the passenger lean.

this one was terrible, could not run with any negative trim, even at 50mph if trimmed down to cross wakes it just
layed on the left side.I have ran and messed with boats since i was 10 and have never had one do this.He bought
it without testing,if i had test drove it i would have never considered buying it.Originally i thought it was because
the trolling batts were mounted under the deck extension, moved them back,no help.i then removed EVERYTHING
out of it down to the measuring board, still the same. After they guy on this post said he fixed one by straightening
the motor i went that way.The plate looked to be about 3/8 Low on the left side.I used a laser pointer and piece
paper to determine the bullet was actually 2" to the right of the very bottom keel.So i loosened the plate and
jacked it up on the left side to center the bullet.went up about 5/8-3/4 on left side and raised the whole motor
an inch.It is now like my 96.does not matter where i trim it,it runs level and controllable.Full gas, full wells loaded
    down don't matter.

sorry about the funky post, from my phone. It looks normal on my end until i post it.

How did you raise/level it? did you have to make new holes? please detail what you did

i used a jack and put pressure on the theft side
of the plate and raised it so it went up even.It is still a touch off center.Bullet to keel
but it runs like it should. The way it was when he bought it was not even drivable to
me.I used a laser light to shoot from the keel to the lower unit.

Make sure the motor is set level.
Mine was mounted offset slightly (or moved after a few years of use) and I had a lot of lean. Rehung it and it is much better. Proper setup and a good worked prop did the most to fix mine. But it will still do it from time to time, but not most of the time.

How is that possible with only 1/32" clearance between the bolt and the hole?

not sure what clearance you are talking about.I loosened the bolts on each side of the plate
and raised the engine with the adjusting bolt in the middle.

Either the plate slipped down on the left side or someone did
not pay attention when adjusting and did not make sure the
plate went up even.May not be everyones issue but it was his.
I actually think his is the slidemaster because he just told me he
had to adjust it again this spring, and i know it was torqued when
    i did it before.
