    Could the be Thermocline?

    Notice the band that looks to be fish fixed at 30 feet. Could this be Thermocline?

    It is probably fish at or just above the thermocline. The thermocline is not displayed. The sensitivity is too low or it is filtered out or not dense enough to reflect sonar.

    It has been weak in my area due to rains and shorter periods of hot weather.

    Use 2D sonar to confirm it.

    When it gets dense enough, it will look like this:

    Wayne, are you saying the thermocline is at the 17' range?

    Yes in my example.

    Where I was yesterday, it was at 22'.

    From previous years, this is how the fish relate to the thermocline:
