    Evinrude G2 and a Tuffy 1890

Decided to repower my Tuffy 1890 with Evinrude G2 200HO this year. So far it has been an excellent choice better mileage, speed, quieter, less oil used and holeshot.

The warranty was up on my Opti this year and my boat is rigged the way I want, so I kept the boat and changed engines.

    I like the color combos.

Where did you get the hub kit to run the bravo? Iam not familiar with the tuffy hull. What would be a good comparison for your boat? I have been having trouble getting mine propped and Iam looking for any info you might be able to provide. Iam currently running a rebel and if it we're to become history I wouldn't have any bad feelings over that one.

Its made by Solas, I purchased the hub kit and prop thru Brainerd Props. Tuffy hull, oh boy what is good comparison? Its got a pretty decent pad under on the running surface, maybe a Yar Craft 186. The 1890 is 18'9" long claimed dry weight is 1600#

I have gotten 60 out of it with the Bravo and 58 with the RX4, both chine walk some at 58 or so with just me in it. Both run at 5500 rpm give or take a little

    What boat do you have?

I tried a Mark Croxton Lazer 3 with ok results, it blew out a little in the corners

I'm running a 2015 stratos 386 with the 200 on it. It was mounted all the way up and with a 21 rebel I was getting 54 mph at 5100 rpm. The blowout was pretty bad with that prop, so the dealer dropped it 3 holes and threw a 20 rebel on it. The blow out is not as bad but only gets 52 at 5100.

Slick rig, those 1890 and x190 tuffy’s catch my eye, seems a bit more of a bass-friendly layout than most of the multispecies boats—wish they weren’t so concentrated in the upper midwest, I’ve never seen one in person. Love to see some more pics, especially interior. Trailer it on over to champlain, you can stay and use my waypoints and take me for a test-drive! 

I would say more multi species, the X190 is a shallower version of the deep v 1890. They have longer front decks then the average boat in this range, but you can fish 2 guys in front and put 8 1/2' rods in the locker.
