    First real issue

Brand new boat and expect some issues. I don't necessarily live in dream land so I know what to expect.
Well i was putting something away today in the boat, and i had left the compartment between the seats open. I had noticed that the black plastic tub insert was lifted on one side. Even though there is a screw in each corner, i just pushed it back down thinking i will get back to it.
Well i got back to it and it was lifted again. Broke out the screw driver to remove the tub to see what is happening.
Well, what happened is unreal. The gas tank expanded and pushed the tub up, which broke the fiberglass where the holes were drilled.
Really, you leave no room for expansion ?
189TRX with about 3 weeks of use.

You can thank the EPA with there new fuel system design. Leave the fuel cap cracked open when not in use so it can vent. Just make sure you do not have any heat sources near by (Gas water heater /furnace)

I notice my fuel cap doesn't vent either. Every time I pop that sucker open a rush of vapor comes out.

    Is this normal?

Certain things I have been able to look past.
The ugly vinyl emblems coming off after 1 week.
Square hatch openings with rounded hatch covers.
    Cheap hardware.
But I think a gas tank venting is pretty important.

Guess I'll just have to hang on to my '02 for a while. Only problem I've ever had is the live well pumps gave out after 13 years. I did recover the seats last year though.

Not to the EPA, it appears. Ventless tanks were mandated around 2013, I believe.

Ok, so my only option is to crack the gas cap ?
Seems like that's asking for trouble.
Could the pressure build up to where it forces fuel in the engine ?

Banned I have been there with my Triton I had a 2013. I didn't have this issue but I understand your concern.
I wish they would move the tanks under the seats. This way they could be taken out if needed. My Triton and Ranger vented fine. When I pop the cap you can hear pressure being released, also can feel it when fueling.
The tank causing your tray to pop out is jacked up for sure. I am sure Triton will fix it. Get it to the dealer
A guy on here had a new 20XS with a hole in his tank, I still cant get over that. Good luck!

    FYI
The new 2016 TRX 18 AND 19 has some nice changes, I will say that.

I would suggest that anyone with this model, or models built similar, to remove the 4 screws at each corner holding the tray in place.
