What is this laying in the bottom of my motor housing?

Found this lay in bottom of my motor housing the starboard side. What is it? Does it need to be connected somewhere?

+1. The fitting is currently CLOSED on it's end, so it does not require connection.

If you wish to drive an ANALOG speedo, clip the very end of the fitting to open it, and attach a pitot tube to the fitting, then run it forward to the speedo.
