Check Ebay. Most likely wont be a Cajun branded part but a close match.

Couldn't find anything on the web. The latch itself is aluminum and broke...may try to just repair it somehow if I can find some type of replacement for just that. Anyone else have any ideas?

What part broke, exactly? The handle?

Yep, the handle. Was sticking up slightly...foot caught on it and broke in two pieces.

Maybe try contacting Marine Supply from Gulfport, Mississippi (ebay vendor asnappertrapper) - they seem to have a lot of salvage items for Cajuns (lids, gauges, etc.)... maybe they have one laying around.

If you're a DIY'r, a new handle wouldn't be too difficult to remake from a chunk of aluminum, or even Lexan. Either material is easy to work with normal hand tools.

kyduck- I might be able to make a replacement handle... but it wouldn't be until next week before I could look at it. Can't make any promises, and it may not be an exact factory match, but should allow the lid to be opened.
In the meantime, you could remove the entire latch to remove the pivot pin and broken handle piece, and replace it with a loop of webbing or paracord as a temporary pull.

On a side note, I took a dremel drum sander and removed all the pointed parts on the inside of my pull handles (shown on your original pic). They were forever catching on the fleshy bits of my fingers, so they had to go!

That was it. I guess they are kinda different. They are the ones on my boat(small rings). I wonder what year those were produced?

I don't know if I have the machine program to make these anymore. I could check later this evening.
If you still have the base, you could pound out the pivot pin and use a length of webbing or paracord for a pull.
