Need help selecting new electronics

Just bought first boat. Have about $1200 to spend to upgrade electronics on 96 Procraft. Lowrance LCF-1440 flasher in dash. Pinpoint 7820 (don't laugh-works pretty good). So I'm having problems deciphering what brand/and unit. Gonna keep Pinpoint for now. Want to buy a good unit for side of dash, for navigation, searching, etc, to expand off of later. Looking at HDS7 gen2 touch bundle w LSS transducer(after rebate $1000). Understand CHIRP technology, but units don't seem to give much more other than HD graph. Considered Humminbird 899ciHDsi...,or 859ciHD... because of price. Both makers seem to have issues. Trying to take advantage of BPS sale/rebates right now. Also, what extra equipment do I have to buy, that I'm not seeing in description? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I just did. Looks nice. Will research it more. Thought Garmin was mostly salt water/coastal with 52khz. How much different is the 77/200 kHz frequency than an 83/200?
