Can I get more speed out of my toon?

Have a 2010 pontoon 20' with a 2010 90hp 4 stroke Mercury, prop is your basic 3 blade Alu 13 pitch Mercury prop. My numbers right now are, 2 people at WOT 5700 RPM's and 23mph. Thinking of going to a 15pitch and see what that does. I think RPM's will drop to 5300 but not sure. What do you guy's think?

Its worth a shot, and worst case scenario is you gain a spare prop to keep in the boat. You could also consider a 4 blade prop, it helps carry the heavy load of a pontoon better, and will lift the stern some creating less drag.

So here are the numbers with the 15 pitch prop, 5100 rpm's and 23mph, so no help at all.

How about your weight distribution, are you able to move any weight to the rear to get the nose up? How does the boat respond to trim angle?

can't move any weight, gas tank is in the back and is full with 20gal, no help on trim at all. no big deal, most of the time we are just cruising and having a cocktail.

Is the bottom of the boat skinned? I did it to mine and picked up 4 mph and the boats ride is quieter and smoother. Cost me about $200 to do it and a Saturday morning.
