I use bleach water and recirc it to kill anything that might be alive, I fish Asian carp rivers so I keep my boxes clean. I was hesitant about bleach but after a good flush you should be good. Plus many livewell treatments like Please Release Me have additives to counteract chlorine. That's also helpful for the summer months. You can mix the treatment with tap water and freeze it empty bottles, then toss them as needed to cool the fish

Just about anything you want just flush it out a lot. Even when you get on water next time flash it more.

Don't forget the hot water over 140 degrees to kill zebra mussels. I guess bleach would do the trick though.
I just can't bring myself to use it.

Try BABE'a Boat Products Livewell Wash. I've been using it for years and swear by it over anything else. 100% safe and makes your wells look brand new.

I never use any chemicals. I just wipe them out with a sponge and call it done. Have never had an issue.

I cleaned mine by taking a 1/2" clear plastic tubing and connecting to my outlet plugged up my inlet to livewells put a 1/2 cup dishwasher liquid turned on the recirculate switch and filled livewells 1/2 up with warm water .did that for 10 minutes while scrubbing with a brush then pulled the plug and dumped it then rinsed out with water hose..

I fish the California Delta anything that can survive some of those backwaters can survive use of most cleaners, chemicals, bleach and probably brake cleaner if you rinse it well.

I just use warm water. I keep them plugged when not being used. Warm water and some elbow grease does it for me.

fill em full of water and put a couple of cups of the thick gel type bleach (less chance of splashing on carpet). Recirc for 5-10 minutes. Drain. Fill back with water and dish soap. Drain. Fill one more time with water, recirc, and drain!

I use Sol-U-Guard. Its a biodegradable disinfectant and kills 99.9% of germs (says the label). I spray the whole livewell down and scrub it with a brush. Then I hose it down, and also spray through the drain hose of the livewell. Then when I'm done I spray the whole thing down with Sol-U-Guard again and let it dry. Its all natural and I've never had fish die from it.

Baking water in water or with simple green...

Also use Simple Green to wipe down your rig...
cut is half with water if you are a cheap guy...it works...

BTW, clean electronic screens ONLY with WINDEX Multisurface w/vinegar.....
the experts say only that..and microfiber rag...works for me and has for 3 years...

Always have a quart ($1) of hydrogen peroxide in the live well...
add about a cup during the 5 hot months when bass #3 gets in the well...
never lost a bass...all the way to a 6.85 pounder. and 16.85 limit...
