Your post really brought back memories and I write this with more than a few tears rolling down my cheeks. I am sorry for your loss. The greatest honor I have ever received was the moment I was handed my Grandfather's flag. I remember thanking the color guard for performing his service They looked at m and said that it was their honor for he was their brother. My Grandfather fought in the Battle of the Bulge and I was able to attend several reunions with him. I remain amazed at the humility these men displayed. Truly The Greatest Generation and we are better men for having known them. Thank You for the post and God Bless you and your family.
