Question Talon will deploy only when boat is plugged

The title say it all... got out on the water today, hit the controller and only one of the two talons (2nd gen) goes down, no lights flahing no noise nothing on the second one...

When I get back home i decided to try it again and it did not work, I plugged the chargers and try again, it works! It goes down slower then the other one but it goes down... what could it be?? They are not plugged on the same battery could it be the problem? Bad battery?

    Thank you!

Sounds like a battery. It may show 12 volts that does t mean it has enough current to provide deployment of the Talon. Just to double check you can swap the batteries to make sure it's not in the Talon itself. Good luck.

I really doubt you can bring a battery up that has .29V overnite. Even at that, the battery is probably gone and if it does recharge, I wouldn't rely on it.

BTW, why don't you have both Talons connected to the same battery.

Her is my set up , I have 4 betteries, One that is dedicated to the engine and sonars, the 3 others are for my 36V Trolling motor, I decided to plug on Talon to one of those 3 and the other Talon to another of those three...

Is this how it should be?

For proper rigging...both should be wired to the starter batt.

As everyone after my post states, the accessories (unless you have a dedicated accessory battery) should be wired to the cranking battery. This includes shallow water anchors, depthfinders, radios, etc.

    I bought a starting/deep cycle 845A class 27 battery... is this ok?

If it's part of your 36v trolling motor than all 3 need replaced. All from the same group size. If it's your cranking battery than your good.

And don't use cranking battery for a trolling motor. 27 is small too. Try 29 or 31.

Also put a cut off switch on your talons if you don't have one. Or they will kill your battery while in storage. You may have already know this if so disregard.

You actually don't need a cutoff switch on the Gen 2 talons, you can just pull the inline fuses if they are easy to get to. If you want a real switch then sure, go for it, but if you are just looking to stop the power drain just pull the fuse.
