Pedal tray, passenger rod rack and other DIY stuff

Got my R&R Design pedal tray installed. It doesn't come with a drain, so I used a PVC barb fitting, cut it down and sanded it to make a low-profile drain tube.

Cut the hole, then sealed all the exposed wood with epoxy resin:

The finished install (the Ram base I made really neatened up the sonar wire bundle too):

I might finish the screws anodized-red to match the others on the dash.

Made a new 2-piece GPS antenna mount out of poly - the antenna and transducer cables are sandwiched and rout down through the existing bow light hole. Easy to replace/upgrade!

Then fab'd a poly rod rack for the passenger rod ramp. Painted the stainless screws and standoffs anodized-red (to match my dash project), and added red bungees to capture rod butts.

Need to bolt it up tight, but should keep reels from clanking now.
Finally, installed some red LED strips for night fishing.

Thanks! I just made a template to cut a poly plate in front of the pedal tray - it will neaten up the front of the pedal area, and I'll cut some slots for tool storage. More pics to come...

Good job. What size barb fitting did you use? I have the same tray and will be installing mine while on vacation this June and want to add a drain also.

I used a 1/2" barb x 3/4" FPT fitting. The barb was 3/4" o.d. actual, which fit the tray hole very well. I used 3/4 o.d. x 1/2 i.d. clear tubing for drain line - heated the end to help get it over the barb.
Also plugged the four holes that were pre-drilled in the tray - didn't make sense they were there to begin with. Otherwise, it's a great tray at a great price!

Thanks for the info. I think it's a great option for the drain.

Looks great. I believe the four small holes were the drain holes. They just drain into the hull and it makes its way to the bilge area.

Fab'd a cover from poly and installed today. I like how it finishes off the front of the tray, and helps manage the cables.

If R&R Design made this identical TM pedal tray without the tapered front, a guy could do this and add a full depth cup holder there too!

That looks great to. I have often tossed around doing the same thing out of aluminum. Looks clean.

DO IT!!! I considered an aluminum version with some angular bends in it to add character ("stealth fighter"-like), and cover it with carbon fiber vinyl with red anodized screws to match my dash. But I had the reminder of the cutting board to burn up, and it's "maintenance free". lol

Where did you get your poly? I like the looks of that a bunch. I might try something like that myself.
