Your overflow should be up at the very top of your livewell...you have to stick your head down in the well to see it. The top of the Hydro air tube opening should not be above the overflow, but should be above where the full well water level is.

If I were you, I'd do the modification. Easy to do!!!!!
I have a 1997 202 does this modification apply? I have just the open/close live well drain valve(broken) I have to replace it. Should I get a different valve to replace it with? I want to do this while I have everything out and changing cartridges in my pumps. Can I put a 750 gpm cartridge instead of a 500 gpm?

This fix only applies if you have Hydro Air...and if your livewell always fills high enough to cover the venturi tube opening at its top, thus preventing the Hydro air from bubbling. Your open/close valve is not involved. If it is broken, you need to replace it.

Air gets mixed in when filling w/lake water too, but this method insures you get air regardless of water over the top of the tube or not and allows you to shut off outside lake water that may be too hot, add rejuvenate, ice etc. and just keep pumping oxygen into the well all day...
Need to make sure that the livewell lid allows air to the intake fitting. On some models, the lids fit pretty tight.

Tim, as long as you replace your Aerate cartridge with the same GPH ratng, you should be good to go. This particular mod doesn't apply to your boat since you don't have a recirculation pump (Hydro).

Glad it helped you~~~ It made a difference for anyone who had the problem described!!! Duane really helped us with this modification. Fortunately, it was corrected at the factory for later models!

Been running a 95 202 for its 24 years. Have never lost a fish in the well. I run the live will pump at the 25%setting and the hydro knob on 50-75%. That keeps fresh water circulating

The OP or Lea can correct the 1st post, but here is the link to the Store --> Marine - Products (flow-rite.com).

The MA-12-BLA is now MA-12-BLK --> Air Intake Assembly for PowerJet Aerators (flow-rite.com)
The MD-055 is now MD-00055 --> Air Intake Tubing (flow-rite.com)

You're on your own for the Ace Hardware 3/12" barb to barb connector. I assume you can also get it from Lowe's/Home Depot

Gunnar is gonna have to show up and replace the pix.

Not sure how to do this on iPad. I will be home with laptop tomorrow. Remind me of this and I will try to maybe cut and paste if you think that will work...

I did repost pictures in a new thread here in stickies!

I had plenty of PVC aquarium airline around the house, I just jammed a piece of airline in the top of the Powerstream Aerator and extended it up out of the water. Worked just fine last season

I sent the OP a PM to see if he would edit his original post and repost the pix back on the 13th. I've not gotten any response.
