im going to follow your lead and use the same lights. Did you have to use a relay for them like you do some of the larger LED light bars, or did you just go to an accesory fuse?

    thanks!

No relay needed.... I wired LEDs to the switch I installed on the bow panel...then straight to battery with inline fuse (however I am wiring it to the fuse panel now [easier that way])

Very nice install. Those lights are also pretty cheap compared to what Brandon Palaniuk is pushing (Rigid Industries)...

Are you running direct to the battery or splicing into the trolling motor leads? Does anybody know the legality of running these lights while under way? I'm also curious how well these lights can brighten an area for casting purposes.
These look great and I've thought about doing something like this before. I thInk I might bite the bullet when I take apart the boat this winter for a depth finder install.

    Great avatar by the way!
I just did a rewire on my boat so the spotlights are now wired to a dedicated fuse in the fuse panel. They were previously wired straight to my troll batteries (24v)

Not sure about legality of running them...... but they are bright enough for casting.

    Thanks!
I don't really need them for running but still think I might install since I'll be running wires anyway. I often find myself casting even when I can't see to cast anymore when on a good bite. I'm thinking I will go with only one light because my trolling motor takes up so much of the small bow plate on my V18 Allfish so I'm thinking this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00H1L...s=kawell+flood
....a little more light for a single fixture. I'm also thinking two switches in line. One at the bow and one at the console. That way I can have control at both places. I'm also removing a cd player during my winter project so I will have an available switch location at the console and an empty spot on my Blue Sea fuse block.
The ram mount and plug ideas are great too! Thanks for those ideas.

You can also buy Ram Balls with internal threads. The ball will screw right onto the bolt you choose. I have them in 1/4-20 for use on my camera and tripod. Many thread sizes to choose from. Put a spring washer on and you should be good to go.

I hope those are legal in your state. Most states have laws against any lights other than navigation and docking lights and you're really only allowed to have the docking lights on when approaching the dock. I found this out when I wanted to put an led light bar on the front of my boat.

I'm doing this immediately to my duck boat! I've been struggling with a good way to get removable lights and this is what I've been looking for! I've finally seen the light (pun intended)!

    Thanks for sharing!

So I bought the parts but decided to go with 2 9" light bars instead... I understand that you took off the original hardware and I see that you mounted the RAM diamond plate to the light but I don't understand HOW you did it. With the lights I got (which seems to be the same design) I can't get the original factory nut out of the base of the light. I also don't see how you got the two new nuts into the base of the light.

Did you have to disassemble the casing around the light to get the two new nuts in the base?

WOW that's awesome Ideal. now you have me thinking, when we fish tournaments a lot of the lake we fish have no lights and it is a %$&#%$ backing the boat down the ramp to the water, but adding a set of these to the rear of the boat and flipping them on before backing down would be awesome. much better than having to rewire the trailer to add them too the trailer, and them ram mounts are the BOMB, looks professional
