I'm thinking a 3/4" plywood piece mounted would add a more sturdy feel to the step.
i know it's not fancy, but all I wanted was a step. I used the actual seat bottom, I never even took it off the boat. Applied quarter inch plexiglass with countersunk screws to attach it. And then the top is a 3/16" inch shop type nonskid mat you can buy at Walmart. Works great and does not flex and if I jump on it . The mat is glued down with epoxy image.jpg image.jpg

I worked the seat area to this....cup holder, center storage and step. Fits the RT nicely. From Bass Boat Seats. I like it. I reworked it a little to be a better match for the boat.

Nice job Panama. I like the customization with the added carpet, decal and metal cup holder insert. Where is the cup holder insert from? I think I will do the same, but use the darker gray console. Bass Boat Seats has them on sale right now. Can you use the original holes from the seat when mounting the console?

The holes in the boat don’t match the holes that are molded into the Bass Boat Seats console but your just drilling into the flip up lid so it’s easy to mount.
Ive had one in my Triton for a couple years now and it’s worked out great.

Panama i am curious as well where did you get the carpet and cup inserts your work looks great. Also did you use the same phillips screws that held the seat in or go with bolts.

I painted the step to a better matching color. I used bolts. Had to drill new holes. Ranger used to ship a new boat with a shipping cover. They used a small piece of carpet scrap to wrap the TM prop to protect the cover. That is the carpet. The cup inserts are for a poker table. They sell them on Amazon.

I thought that carpet looked like a perfect Ranger match and I know they sell it by the square yard. I like how your installation looks factory and Thanks for the reply.

If you are talking about the lid with carpet glued to it, then no. It sort of snaps when you close it and latches down. To open the lid, you have to pull on it a little and unfasten it with a pop. It is pretty darn strong too when using it as a step. It works great.

Does the Basscat box stay closed when you lift up the seat?
