My personal preference is the UL81C plug.

Re: Up to date official Johnson-Evinrude spark plug chart (SEAHORSE)

The chart specs the UL77V or L16V surface gap. However, note 3 states, all VRO/OMS equipped motors the "QL" suppressor plug is recommended.
Should I change from the UL77V or L16V surface gap to the QL suppressor plug, or say the heck with it and wait for my 150 E-Tech HO?

    Regards,

I am leaning in that direction. I just hope the new E-Tec will be as fast as my old XP150

Re: Up to date official Johnson-Evinrude spark plug chart (RUSTY63)

Rusty, now you've gone and hit the last nerve I have left. . My 1987 GT150 was a heck of a lot stronger than the 1999 175 carbed Johnny that I replaced it with and the fuel usage is about the same. I would have thought there would have been quite a power increase in the 175 since it's rated at the propshaft and the 150 GT was rated at the powerhead. Since that GT150 was part of my Ranger 373V Bass Masters Classic rig is it possible that the Johnny's for those rigs were hopped up from the factory to show well in the "Classic"? I spent a small fortune in 2000 updating and repowering that rig only to gain 2mph. The motor is much quieter and the oil usage is much less.

Yea, yea, yea I hear ya. Seeing is believing. If da bomb-bar-dee-airs can build a E-Tec 150 HO that will out preform, and get better gas mileage than my 1985 XP150, I buy it. Other than that, dem dudes better put up or shut up! You tell em I said put up or shut up. I wannna see, sho me now.

Thank you, thank you. You are the man of the year. Any word on if there will be a HO version in the 150 HP range?
