In need of help on which boat to pick .......

I'm currently looking at 6 different boats by 6 different manufacturers and in need of help and pros and cons of all three boats and why , I only would like opinions on the boats if you have had personal experience in the or with the motor . I would like to know about storage room on all the boats and any other info you may have

Boat #1 1998 Stratos 201 Pro Elite with a Johnson Venom 225 $10,500

Boat#2 2001 Sprint 221 Tournament 1999 Johnson 200 (boat has unlimited tag) $12,500 obro

Boat #3 1999 Ranger 518 with 200 hp Mercury EFi $13,000

Boat #4 1998 Hydra Sport with 1998 200 hp Evinrude $10,000

Boat #5 2007 Nitro 750 with 90 HP Saltwater Merc

Boat #6 1999 Javelin with 175Hp Johnson

All come with Tandum axle trailers but the Hydra . All come with trolling motors some maybe better then others . I'm looking for comfort and storage top end dont have to be crazy fast but the best all around boat . Also looking for 20 foot or so enough room for a partner .

The 518 is a 19' foot boat so if you want a 20 foot boat that one doesn't qualify.

If all are in similar condition, the 201 Stratos will be the best out of that bunch, IMO.

I'd think moving forward if you ever wanted to sell it again…the Ranger or the Stratos would be the way to go…..

Personly, I'd look for more options. But if I had to choose one listed, it would be the Ranger. Tough call though.

I've owned hydro sports longer than most can remember,wanted a 196 real bad when they quit making them, own a 08 201 stratos now and was talking to a long time stratos dealor the other day and his comment was the 196 was ahead of its time, you can see in its design a lot of triton etc. depending on the condition don't know if it would trump the same year 201 with a bigger engine but if it was in great shape could be worth considering, might go to the hydro sport board and talk to them.

Also looked at your list again the evinrude and venom are sound motors the 200 merc efi is bullet proof if it was on the 196 it would be a done deal for me I had a custom made hydro sport with a 175 efi I still mis.

I'm kind of going against the grain by saying the 2007 boat. Newer the better for you, not for resale value. Wiring, plumbing, everything.

Boat #'s 5 & 6 wouldn't be options for me. I don't know a lot about the sprint. May be a great boat but I don't know. I would go with #1 first choice and then #3. The javelin will beat you to death and Im not a huge fan of that particular ranger hull. I would probably keep looking at options until I found one I couldn't live without.

You need to modify your poll...#3, 5 and 6 can be eliminated because they are easily under 20 ft. With # 1, 2 and 4 being left I say #1

What model Javelin is it? I have an 18R and not sure what bigredglass is referring to, mine rides as good if not better than most other 18' glass boats.
