Synthetic beats conventional all day, any day.
Fact is that all vehicles are best served with either full synthetic or high mileage motor oils.
Conventional is for the short-term budget minded folks.

Everyone is gonna say Mobil 1. That's great. Use in wife's car. I've grown to love pennzoil. I use shell premium gas too. My personal favorite. 03 Silverado HD 6.0L gas.

Maybe Rotella T Triple Protection 10W30 Conventional or Rotella T5 Synthetic Blend 10W30. Rotella T6 Full Synthetic is 5W40.

Mobil conventional 5w30.. and my "short term budget" has almost 200,000 on her with zero problems or leaks. Change every 3000 and use a quality filter.

I've had more than one truck last over 100K with regular oil, heck one of them went 250K before I got tired of driving it.

I think if you are going to go 7k between changes then synthetic is the way to go, but if you are changing at 3k or 4k I don't think its going to matter much.

Castrol GTX conventional 10/30 all summer, 5/30 all winter. Last Tacoma got 300,000 on it, so I run it on this Tacoma too. Had a Ford Tempo that got 280,000 and still ran on the same oil as well.

It is a very good choice for sure. Change as directed and use quality fuel, you are good to go.

Used Castrol Edge for years. Just switched my wife's 2012 Murano to Amsoil Extended Life last week. I have one more free oil change on my 2013 Sierra and it's making the switch also. Already running HP Marine Synthetic and Synthetic gear lube in my OptiMax. I've get excellent dealer pricing from my local dealer on all items when I buy all at once.
