C&O Marine Parts purchased the remaining parts inventory from ChampioN when they made the move from Mtn Home to Murfreesboro, and is a good source of some of the parts used on the Mtn Home Champs. Specific plastic parts, unique to ChampioN may be impossible to find. Most hardware and electrical items were provided by companies such as Perko and can still be purchased through one of their distributors or dealers. Look on your old part for any manufacturer name and numbers

Keep in mind that most manufacturers will not sell direct to end users, so in that case, you have to find a dealer or distributor. Use their site or online catalog to find the part you are looking for then use a search engine such as Google to search for it by using the manufacturer name and part number. You'd be surprised how many times I see someone looking for a part and in a couple of minutes or less on Google, I can come up with multiple sources ...

Gauges

Gauges used in the pre-Genmar Champs were Teleflex Red International and are still available. The gauges in the Elite series boats were Red International Domed. These domed gauges are no longer available, but you can still find some here and there since a lot of boat manufacturers used them. The Teleflex Amega series appears to be fairly close to the Red International Domed.

Teleflex sold their gauge div to Veethree Instruments in 2009. I’ve updated all the links to the current troubleshooting guides (3/5/2011)

Wiring harness colors
The main colors for the wiring harnesses or DC distribution Champs up until the MegaLink are ...

Red - 12vdc from the battery positive post to the power switch (via 20A breaker).
Orange - Switched 12vdc from the power switch. That supplies power to most other things, electronics*, livewell timer, courtesy lights & other console switches, etc.
Blue - Instrument Lights
Purple - Switched 12vdc from the ignition switch. That supplies switched power to the tach, fuel gauge and back to the engine.
Black - Ground. there should be a ground buss under the console for the black wires to attach to that is connected to the battery's negative post.
Gray - Anchor and Navigation lights.
Brown - from the livewell timer or bilge switch to the pumps

* Some sonar units may be wired to the un-switched 12vdc side of the power switch or directly to the battery, owner preference.

Genmar Drop Away Tongue Trailer Recall
Genmar trailers for 2003-2006 Champion that had the drop away tongs were issued a recall in 2006. It also appears you can enter your trailer VIN to see if it is affected.

Wow, great links that I can use on my rebuild / 88 Champion 184 DCB. Does anyone have a good source for the fuel tanks built by INCA? I have a 36 gal fuel tank with a split down the middle and need a replacement? The data plate is worn so bad I can not read the model number but I did see a inprint of the tank of "3620"?
