    Mine did too. If you want it draw a little more from one side, I just move the selector a little more toward the side i want to draw more from...seems to work.

    You really have to have both tanks filled to the exact same level for it to pull evenly for some reason.

    Port side was about 1 inch from top and the starboard side was about 2 inches from the top.

    Search "3 way valve" on McMaster Carr web site. Several styles to choose from. Recommend the brass types.
