[QUOTE=slonezp;8032197]I really like the consoles on yours. More like a bass boat. Are the bubble windshields removable for when you cover the boat?[/QUOTE
Yeah, I agree. They did a good job making this boat look like a bass boat. I have no idea on the windshields though. Picking it up tomorrow and may start another thread. I've hijacked this thread too much already. Sorry OP.
I would like to ask the moderators for a Lund specific page on this forum.
I think this would be it.
Maybe we can get this thread made a sticky.

If you have any opinions on the length / thrust of the TM's listed please advise. I am torn between the two. I know the cable deal but my back has seen better days.
Woody, Your Mr Pike is a 17 footer right? 80 is plenty of thrust for that rig, and if you regularly fish in a 2ft chop, I'd go with the 60". The Ultrex is too new for review. I do believe they worked all the bugs out of the first generation Ulterra and the current generation (gen 2) should work flawlessly. The new spot lock is supposed to be as good or better than the Motorguide.

Don't regularly fish in two foot chop but have been on Champlain and other larger lakes when it got nasty! What length do you run?
I wasn't sure there was a gen 2 ulterra. This is what makes this board great!
Would you prefer the cable steer? Just not sure how hard it is to lift with assist.
Thank You Sir
And yes it is a 17'
I noticed you were running a 112 with a 20'.
Why not get the extra power?
I had a 17 ft Mirrocraft Holiday with a 70lb Powerdrive V2 60" shaft and it was plenty of power and long enough shaft to withstand 20-25mph on Lake Michigan. Any more than that and the trolling motor would come completely out of the water. The Lund came with an 80lb 60" Terrova and when wind is blowing 30mph on Lake Michigan it wasn't enough. Don't even think I got 4 hours on a full charge. Loaded down, the Lund weighs 1300 lbs more than the Mirrocraft did. I upgraded to the 112 after the first season. The 36v will give me a full day in the wind on Lake Michigan. Above 30mph, and the trolling motor comes completely out of the water. And no, I don't fish theses conditions regularly, I just rather have the extra power on hand when I need it.
As far as why I recommended the 80, If you jump up to the 112, You've got the extra expense of the motor and a 3rd battery, plus having to make room for battery #3. I've been running electric steer motors for 15 years and Ipilot since it was introduced. I have no desire to run cable steer. The Ulterra wasn't out when I bought the 112. If it was, I would have bought it.

Woody, i had a mr pike 17 (shown on p1 of this thread). I bought a 60" terrova for it. 80lb thrust was plenty. I do fish 2' chop pretty frequently, I actually cut my shaft to about 52". It was still plenty long, just didnt stick up so high and get in the way as much.
