I just bought a 2000 R20 with 225 ho..it has a 27 on it. I'll let you know what it runs when I get my 1199 installed. Mine has a 10" Hydro Dynamics Rapid jack on it.

Wow you are getting a lot of slip. Either that or your tachometer is way off.

Never ran a 27 on my boat. I have a worked original raker 25 pitch running 5700-6000 rpms depending on humidity. Holeshot is good, midrange is great with this prop. Top speed is 72ish now. Best I've done was 76 before replacing a blown lower unit. I have a renegade 25 pitch good cornering and staying on plane at lower speeds but slower than the raker.
With those rpms and pitch you should be in the 70s with that set up. Best spot on the jackplate I've found is 3.25 below pad for the raker. The gade did better lowered.
As said, you have alot of slip or your tach is way off. If I remember correctly I run 55 at around 4800 rpms with my set up.

Don't know that much about it.

Yeah something is way wrong. You should be in the low 70s at least with that setup. My 2000 R20 with a 08 200HO runs 72 with a 25 tempest turning 5850. Thats with plenty of gear and another guy with me.

Thanks going to have my Raker 26 redone just had new lower unit out on about 30 hrs ago it is the Bullet lower unit but it is the same gear ratio as the old unit with my old lower unit whenever I raised the jackplate it wouldn't go into reverse because the previous owner tore lower unit out at Barkley Lake and they didn't get the shifting rod set right so it ground the gears up. So I think I'll raise it back up and see what happens

Renegade R20 with a 225ho and bullet lower unit....27 razor 3 by mark and its running low-mid 70's all day everyday. LOADED...

Came with a 27 renegade but hole shot is week in the summer and was only good for 70ish

The "bullet" lower unit is a lightning lower unit from OMC on the Johnson. Do you have the OMC raker or BRP raker? Getting the prop worked would be my first choice then playing with the jackplate until you hit the sweet spot.

Hey drew, what was your RPMs? With my 200HO I can turn a 25 Tempest past 5850, but at that I running 72 in colder weather. I have to check what it will do in the hot weather with that prop.

Happened to be reading and noticed that you have very much the same performance as I do with my 2002 200 F&S. I believe we both have the same hull. Understandably, you are faster on the top end. The F&S is heaver and the weight distribution is different but we are close. With a worked (DAH) 24 pitch Raker my best is 72 on a 8" jackplate, but this is where my setup is quite different as I am centerline of the prop shaft even with the bottom of the pad. Trimmed down I still get a great holeshot.

I got rid of my Renagade last year and now have a 26 pitch Worked (DAH) Raker II that I am trying keeping the old style Raker for backup. Still Learning the Raker II but very similar to the original.

Your going way to slow. Do you have a JP?
I do 73 with a 200HO Etec, 6'' plate and a 26P stock Trophy. I know I could do a bit better if I raise it a tad but I'm fine where it's at. Hole shot is good too.
