Received Auto Charts on the mail today. Wow, I think I am way over my head. I don't have a clue as to how to use this thing. So, I just turn the record option on and ride around recording depths?

Yep, you need the sonar log/s (recordings) to get the data to create the maps.

So, I have been reading thru the help menu. The directions in laymen's terms........Anyhow, when I put the lakemaster zero line card into my computer I get a message that states "HBACNAV1 Theres a problem with this drive, scan now to fix it." what the hell does that mean? Is my card jacked up?

It may be the slot trying to read the SD card. Try another SD card and see if it will read it. You can also try another SD reader.

Went and ran some zig zag patters in the river this morning. As soon as church is over I am gonna see if I can map a custom sonar at chart. I used the tracker 1second ping to record. Then saved it to the SD card before I removed it. I guess we will we how it goes.

When I get to the spot where you hit the import icon. It takes me to a screen where I select the SD card with the data on it. That SD card it is titled matrix. if I double click it I get no items match your search and there is nothing in the file name box below next to the box that reads hummingbird sonar logs (.dat) This is really confusing.............

I am still getting the message that states "HBACNAV1 Theres a problem with this drive, scan now to fix it." no matter which card reader I use.

OK so went back to the river and instead of recording from tracker. I made a sonar recording. I made 8 different recordings. Only 4 of them will open. The ones that will open are small ones. Large recordings will not open. I get "Error could not open file. When I save the map it doesn't save any depths/contours. It saves a blank map.

I got everything loaded up, map made and hit "update lakemaster content". Went to check and see if it added the new contour/depths to the zeroline card and it didn't. I have burnt 20 gallons of gas today, 4 hours of idling around and have zero to show for it. Very frustrated.

Correction..............For some reason the 4 sonar dat logs that did not load show o bytes. I guess I didn't record anything on those 4. Guess I am just gonna have to take my time and figure this deal out. I think once I do it will be worth it.

You record to the zeroline card or blank sd card? When recording sonar it should flash on and off recording at the top of the screen. Are you seeing that?
