    Update on Boat

Well here is the latest news on my Allison 21XB 2+2, 2000 Johnson 225, I finally got everything finished and got the time to take it out on Thursday. All I have to say is WOW , That boat (Allison) is in a class of its own My good friend was with me and has a lot of time behind the wheel of an Allison and was showing me some of the in's and out's on how to drive it, we got it up to 78 mph (GPS) and the motor still had more to go but the 26 Raker I have is to small and the RPM's would just go right on past 6000 if we let it. Well now I have to find another prop to try so I will keep everyone posted as I go...

    Re: Update on Boat (AllyFishing)

It has no markings that would make it a Venomthat I could see, when I bought the motor it was just a Johnson 225. Now I will say this, It has always been a real strong motor.. I had to put a piston in it a couple of years ago and when my mechanic and Dominic pulled the heads they were suprised to find some FINGER PORTS on the cylinder walls that were developed by Gordon Montique at Monty Racing. It was my understanding years ago OMC hired Gordon to try to improve the porting on there motors and once he found the right specs for porting, OMC told him they were no longer interested and that they were going to scrap the whole project...This is what I was told...

Yeah, they scraped the project alright.....they had what they wanted and scraped the developer!!!

I'm not remembering but did you mention at all if you had a nose cone and low water pickups on your motor?? If so you can expect to get speeds around 87 - 88MPH with a strong motor like that. what's the weight of the motor??

    Lots of fun, eh???

    Re: Update on Boat (JOEALLY)

No pictures yet, I will try to get some Monday. Yes I do have low water pick ups and a nose cone and a built in torque tab on the skeg, I do not know what the weight is... And yes this seems like it is going to be alot of fun . I want to try to get it running good before the Okeechobee BBC Rally comming up in March, I am going to try to get up there a couple of days to meet some of the guys here on the boards so I can put a face with a name so to speak..
