Here she is after the winter upgrades. Dialup Beware Pic Heavy

I couldn't find the other link so I am just going to start a new one. We did new carpet with padding under it and custom embroidary (sp?), radio with custom painted speakers and bezel, recessed trolling tray, custom airbrushed cowling, rod straps, and various other things that can't be seen all the time like new drivers seat assembly, hotfoot plate, wiring, stainless fasteners etc. etc. etc. Still not finished. Few little things to wrap up but you get the idea. Let me know what you think....

Paul my man!!!! Holy smokes that rig looks awesome!! I love the cowling and the embroidering on the carpet. Padded carpeting??? How does that work? I have heard of it on the Nitro's but don't quite know how they accomplished it. Great job!!

I just had it added to mine and man is it great. I fished for three days in a row, all day long in the wind and the waves and not one ounce of lower back pain. Between it and the recessed TM tray, it's the best money I have spent in a long long time!

Thanks everyone. Craig the padding was a PITA to install but is worth it after. Here is a link to a similar product (dad found what we used somewhere else).
    http://www.duboisfabrics.com/category_s/48.htm

You have to lay it out and cut it about 1" short all the way around the pieces. Then you have to use contact cement to put it down. Then you contact cement the carpet to the padding. It is such a pain because you have to paint contact cement on both pieces and let them dry then assemble. It is not like working with carpet glue. It was difficult but it turned out great. It gives the carpet depth and is very nice on your knees when you are digging something out of the boat. We didn't put it everywhere. Only on the front deck and in the cockpit area. We didn't put it on any of the lids or the back deck. As said above the padding and the recessed tray is AWESOME!!!

Don't you know there is no such thing as slowing down an Allison.

It is just there to give you some support in rougher water or when you are really letting her eat

I'm pretty short. 5' 6" and the hootfoot is hard to reach, any way to adjust that?

Funny you should say that. My dad and I are both only 5'7 and this was the original reason for the red plate under the hot foot. We made it to move the hotfoot back a couple of inches. Then we saw Lou's plates for the Strokers and Bullets and got the idea for the foot rest. It works really well.

Thanks for the idea. You know, someone should come up with one that is adjustable for short guys like us and get it patent. I used a good patent attorney before and can refer her.

Question, what is holding the red pad down?

You can't see it in the pic but behind the hot foot are drilled and tapered holes. We have stainless screws through the plate into the original holes in the boat for the hotfoot. The "red pad" is actually a piece of 1/4 aluminum stock that we painted red.

Thanks! If it becomes an issue this summer, I will copy your design.

Perry, here is the link to the slide plate for a hot foot throttle:

    http://www.bobsmachine.com/Search-results.cfm

The slide plate will mount to the floor and the foot throttle will mount to the slide plate. You should be able to then move it closer to you. I WOULD NOT push my toe against that spot you showed to push the pedal. The pedal uses a spring to return it to idle and if that spring breaks the toe piece is to use the top area of your shoe to bring the throttle back manually. If you are pushing against that toe piece and the spring lets go.....your chit out of luck!!

That just reminded me to get a spring for a spare if it ever does break so I can fix it on the lake and not have to manually return the throttle to idle.

Does any of that make sense?

Re: Here she is after the winter upgrades. (AllyFishing)

Makes a whole lotta sense Craig. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. This means I have to drill holes for the slide plate. Hmmm? I'm always scared when drilling into the boat. It is safe to drill there? Anyone?

Another question is, why couldn't I just relocate the hot foot maybe 5 inches towards me? Or mount my seat 5" forward. Which would be easier?
