    Personal Best Walleye

Caught this 4-15 while pre-fishing for my last tournament. Took Mom, Dad, me, and a small piece for my dog, 2 nights to eat it! Man I see why guys fish exclusively for walleyes. Still rather bass fish tho, trolling is a yawn-fest.

Boy! Pics are deceiving! I would have guessed it at 6 pounds.

That does look bigger than 5. Nice fish. We catch a few every year between 6 and 7 fishing the glacial lakes. They will definitely take a spinnerbait, jerk bait or a lipless crank. Catch a lot of smaller eyes on tubes and soft craws, have even caught a couple on Pop-R's.

I like to show off my big walleye pictures too. I've fished in bass tourney's where partners would catch a 10+# walleye and not even weigh, measure or photo it. My best walleye last year came on the boat ramp on a chatterbait. Its a day I'll never forget because I ended up catching a bunch of 3-5# LMB and getting soaked in the process.

Thanks guys. I guess it could have been bigger than 4-15. I weighed it with my Berkley pistol grip scale and a guy at the last tournament said he had one and they weren't very accurate. I was just using it to cull and it did tell me when one bass weighed more than another, so I wasn't too concerned about accuracy.

Caught this guy last year during a tourney on a biffle bug. Thought it was a pike when I saw it bc it was so big!IMG_32290763412660.jpg

Held it up to the walleye boats around me and slipped it back in the water.
