Well stupidity has left me minus one transom saver this weekend! Have to buy a new one and was looking for pros and cons on the motor mate style as opposed to the conventional style transom saver.

BCB recommends the traditional transom saver. So, that's what I use.

Of course I talk to myself...sometimes I need expert advice.
I love my motormate.
That's all I'll say on this one...if you have any questions about the Motormate just let me know.
not this again
Exactly like that!
Here we go again! LOL. Not only on my bass cat but my other boats throughout the years I've always used a standard transom saver and I've never had any problems / issues.
Do a search...it's been debated on here more times than I know of. Here is the latest and many pages to read thru.

Basscat!
BCB as stated several times they recommend the transom saver. That is what I decided to stay with.
Till a combination between MotorMate or similar transom savers and a traditional full support is introduced BCB will suggest full length transom savers.
Thanks for the feedback, sorry to inconvienience all the ppl with nothing better to do than make useless post on a thread
Largemouth Lou makes one that sets on the roller or trailer and rests against the same lower bolts of the motormate to hold the steering in place. I would imagine it works pretty well. There were pics on the 3.0L merc board awhile back. I know Im not a Cat owner but seen this and figured I throw it out there. I do have a motormate on my boat and really like it tho.

That is what we are after and one that will saddle the rear roller with a flat strap would be nice also. Had one made in Spingfield years ago that was Stainless like that.
I'm doing testing with one of Lou's. I'll use one word, AWESOME. I've put about 3500 miles on it so far.

Thank you for posting a link to the answer for the persons question. Sometimes thats all that it takes instead of going on and on about "here we go again" or "not this again". Takes about the same amount of time to research the link for the person than it does to post a comment here and is much more helpful.
BCB why do you guys suggest one when alot of companys use a Hydraulic Type of saver like the Red Plastic one from Mercury Marine? Everyone tells us the transoms of these NEW style boats are so strong and what is concerning is the Hydraulics? Please let me know, you can IM if you want...
if motormate gave me one also i would use it but until then i will use what BCB recommends. seems all the FLW & BASS guys i have spoke to the motormate was given to them so sure they will use it
