Well lets see, the motor is a 2000 225, the lower unit has the Bobs nose cone and low water pickup. I do not have much experience driving an Allison but I have had it up to 79 mph on GPS. A good friend of mine that has an Allison said with the proper set up the boat should run in the low 80's. I don't know if that is possible or not but who knows. I would love to have a new 250 on the back but that's a little further down the road. I have toyed around the idea of having Gordon do some work on the old motor but not sure if it would be worth it. I definitely get some strange looks from time to time because its not the typical Mercury hanging off the back of a RACE boat..LOL

It's okay to be different; out of 30+ boats at the 2015 rally, I was the only one that did not have a Mercury and the only one with a 4 stroke. My set up works for me and I wouldn't trade it for any engine on the market today.

hey storm....that 225 shoudl push you solo in the upper 80's. I had a 1996 225 promax on my first 2+2 and it topped out at 87.5 with a conservative even with the pad and neutral trim with all my gear aboard and I carry a lot.

I agree. Low 80's should be a good everyday number, but upper 80's when setup from top end should be attainable.

I don't mind being different at all it's all good to me. I mean that"s what owning an Allison is all about right. Well that is some encouraging news that low 80's is attainable I would be happy with that for sure with that old motor on the back LOL. I will have to get with my buddy down here and have him help me set her up so I can be different and pass some of those other boats with the 250's hanging on the back now that will get some looks for sure. I will tell you this it is nice pulling up to the ramps down here and you are the only one with an Allison. I have had people crawling all through the boat and have not had one person say anything bad about the boat at all. This is definitely one of the best boats I have owned that's for sure. Oh and by the way it is a pleasure to fish out of as well.

Nice looking boats guys. I'm a Stratos Owner, but I've always thought Allison's were cool, I wouldn't mind owning one eventually. Maybe its because I love to drag race as much as I love to fish, and Allison's are the drag car of the bass boat world. One thing I have noticed in my time lurking around here, is the apparent lack of color combos offered on Allison boats. Does Allison only offer a couple of colors? I think a Lime Green and Black Allison would look sweet myself, just wondering why more colors aren't offered, there seems to be no chart available, but I'm sure they have good reasons?

They will do custom colors to an extent for a fee. They will not do flake or metallics. They will not build a black boat either. Only recently has he agreed to a black hull and and even that is only partial as I understand. lf you wanted lime with black accents, you might get somewhere IF you speak to Nancy or Darris directly.

I may have ALS but ALS does NOT have me.

1991 Allison XTB-21, 1999 225 promax w/the old school promax cowling pan and skirt. Re-doing my alien cowl as we speak. Has a 4 hole cle. Boat has hydraulic steering and I must say it totally changed everything,it did take some time to get used too. The boat really drives like it's on rails. I have it a 86.2 on gps with solo run,but felt it may have had a little more. These are truly without a doubt, the best boats made. I had a bullet, and other than the decks, there's no comparison. I'm trying to load a pic but it says the file is to big.

The go pro adds wind resistance, probably takes away a mph or two. LOL

Probublay! The lowrance HDS on the dash doesn't help either but it's easy to see gps speed coming into the lights!!
