    210 super pro question

I have an 07 210 super pro dual console with an 03 225 optimax with a 25 pitch tempest plus. What should I look for in top speed and what can I do to get faster

Many variables. Prop condition, weight placement, engine condition and rpm all play a big role.

You should see 68-73 depending on the load and prop slip. Some guys have reported as much as 75 gps. You should try to prop around 5700-5800 max RPM - Whichever prop gets you there is the prop I would run. You need to let us know your gps speed and WOT RPM's to see how efficient you are currently running.

I would not try to modify an Optimax motor. They are lean running engines and walk the fine line of fuel economy & performance. The older EFI motors (and carb engines) are a little different and can tolerate some modifications as they generally run a little more on the rich side. The most I would recommend is TDR reeds and you should have the injectors cleaned and calibrated if they haven't been done in the last 3 years. ** I would only use Tony Brucato or Don Weed for this service. **

Having your prop B&B'd can always gain some performance. If your prop has excessive slip, the balance & blueprint work can decrease slip which will increase speed and overall performance.

When I had my 225 opti my best topend was 71-72 loaded in the colder months. That was with a 25 tempest . The only way to get the most topend out of the 210 is upgrade to a 250hp and maxing out the rating. It will not only net you topend but really wakes up the boat. My best right now with a worked 27 tempest is 77 mph gps.

I have a 250 xs on mine and 27 trophy plus 4 blade and have hit 71 GPS mph. That's with a full load and 3/4 tank fuel. Im still learning that sweet spot for engine height on the jack plate.

'08 250 xs on '07 210 SuperPro single console. Running at 5800 rpm WOT the best I have hit is 72 mph (GPS) under flat calm conditions. I have run tempest 26 and reconditioned tempest 27. Neither really made a huge difference. Normally I have a bunch of tourney and safety gear in the boat which weighs us down a bit.

What kind of load are you carrying SuperPro210Phil? You are really flying at 77mph!

By my estimation Channing, I would be happy hitting 68 under calm conditions.

Hey Scott. load.. i usually have about 85 lbs in fishing gear. I bumped 77.1 on the GPS this fall with water temps in the 50's cool morning with a very slight ripple in the water.
had about 20 gallons of fuel. I am running a worked 27 tempest with a little cup and a 10 inch atlas JP.

I am going to have to step down to my 26 tempest now as things are heating up here in FL. Took it out this past weekend and was running a solid 75 mph on the GPS. I bought the 27p off a guy on BBC who had it worked by Mark. I am not sure what he had done but i know it was B & B with some cup added. I think Mark might have thinned the blades some. I might call mark and see what he did as the prop is stamps with Marks identification.

The most we can get is seventy one on a very light load. But I'm pleased with that

I'm getting 72 consistently out mine but I'm running a blueprinted 26 tempest plus on an EFI 225.
