I wasn't able to purchase the H50, the guy went up on his price and would not sell it to me. So, I will be fishing out of my friends H51 that I have access too, it needs little work, so I will be asking some technical questions. I'm still looking for another boat though.

Look at it this way ..... if the guy went up on his price, he obviously is shady .... so there's no telling what 'might' have been wrong with that boat.

I have a 2004 h51db with a 2003 mercury 90hp. It has a 13 1/2 x 22p powertech prop. WOT is 6000 plus. I have tried a 21, 22, 23, and 24 pitch props. Even tried a 26 pitch chopper that came off a 250 mercury. No matter what the boat comes out the hole good but my rpms are too high. The boat wants to keep pulling but I don’t want to over rev it. Can it just be that my tach is off? It’s a brand new faria tach on the right pole setting. I would have never guessed my motor could turn a 24 or 26p prop but it does. I can’t seem to find a prop to get me in the 5500 range.

Can't impress ya with performance #'s though! I had a Merc 25hp 2 stroke, with 20hp stickers on it, for limited HP lakes, 20hp limit) in my area.
What would be the best way to check the real rpm of the motor? is it common to have a brand new tach be off that much? i even contacted faira and mercury to confirm the setting in the back of the tach.
My h51 went 51mph gps with one battery. I added two more and now it won’t get on pad and goes 43. So I need to distribute the weight somehow to get back on pad? Or is it just too much weight?
