Here's the deal with the 176xt. She was in the wreck and sustained some damage. There were three chips taken out of the boat. One on the back corner where Im guessing that it hit the highway when the trailer dropped off into the ditch, one where the fender on the port side smacked it, and one up near the bow. Nothing that was through the glass, which made repair super easy.
The trailer took a lick. It broke the bunk board on the starboard side, folded up the bow roller bracket way up from its normal area...dented a couple fenders and what not. My cousin David has been helping me work on it daily. He doesnt fish, but is an excellent wrench and wants to help big cuz out. If he only knew how much I appreciate him!
He and I have totally fixed the boat and trailer. All scratches have been fixed and have two part urethane clear over the urethane base, all spots where the gatorhyde on the trailer had chipped has now been sprayed with undercoat material courtesy of my old dealer where I worked.
The Talon had a decent scuff on it, so I took the liberty to convert it to the first blue talon out there.
All in all, David has worked his arse off for me, completely on his own decision. I never asked him. Its nice to have people who love you and will help when you need it. He has done all the lifting, tugging, cussin, etc etc.
I did as much as I could with my current condition, but I was/am very limited on what I can do. I am a VERY happy fella right now!!! He had to help me into the boat to paint the talon and help me down, but the pain and aggrivation was well worth it for me, as it now matches the boat perfectly.
