I took a old lowrance knob with the long bolt and drilled a hole in the bracket where it would sit flat and used 3M double sided tape and stuck a piece of soft rubber on it. Put 2 nuts on the bottom and 2 on the top too lock it. It is also adjustable.

That's a neat idea, thanks for sharing. I would like to do something that would not utilize the top cap, but I guess my options are limited being it's kind of mounted a fair amount from the deck.

I sit for 2 days trying to think of a way and this is all I could come up with since my trolling motor is mounted the way it is.

I use the bulkier version of this but I have a terrova and have a tin boat...
The motor doesn't move at all with this thing and I am sure you could figure something out through Ram.

I recently upgraded to ULTREX and since it’s a tiny bit heavier I used the brace that came with it. I had to send it to Steve Bishop and his welder extended the bracket to miss my top cap and hit the deck. All I did was throw powder coat on both parts and it works perfectly. Few pics to show bracket extension; I def did not want that bracket slapping my top cap.

a friend of mine owns a machine shop. I had him make a similar support that would fit the original minn Kota support arm out of a block of aluminum. Had him make the bracket 2 inches longer so the support rod would land on the deck. Came out great. This is an ultrex on a 2020 SDC.
