XPRESS H 18 SS, YAMAHA 115
1959 Evinrude 50 HP - Back then you used regular 30 wt motor oil in the gas, and it was a natural pain in the gas. Better make sure your paddles were on board. Renamed it EVENRUN

A 2004 Yamaha F50, four stroke, with four carbs.
Had a 200 johnson if it sat up for a few weeks in warm weather it would force oil out the resovoir and fill the bowls with oil..... man was it hard to start.... once I figured out to loosen resovoir cap when sitting it got better to start
17 G2....that thing was fast, but man it liked it the shop. I don't have anything against them, I just got a bad one. When they stopped production I went ahead and moved on; It was an expensive transition, but I'm happy with my Merc.
Agree with this! I also had a 1985 Merc "Tower of Power" inline 6 115hp and it was a cold natured animal. Loved the engine as it made great power for it's displacement and being an inline 6 of not a lot of displacement those little pistons ran up and down very smoothly. I had that engine on an old Dynatrak 176SS fish and ski for 14 years. The engine never let me down but it was cold natured. You needed to have a fully charged starting battery when you began in the morning. I actually used to hook up the muffs and fire it up in my yard with the battery charger still on it just to get past that first start. I'd unhook everything and head to the lake. After the first start it would fire up fine the rest of the day. Those were good times, a long time ago --- I'm getting really old:-(
