Good thread! I am 64, turning 65 in April. I only fished half our club Tx's last year due to work. Big mistake. So I am going to fish this year to try and reduce the stress. Otherwise I'm dead in a few years.

Last year we had one of 6 boats make it to the State Tournament!! This is only the 2nd year it has been a sanctioned HS sport. We (Kentucky) are only the second state behind Illinois to have state sanctioned teams. We Have about 160 schools in KY with teams and these can have as many as 6 Boats in a given tournament. It is tough to sit on a boat all day and never be able to pick up a rod... Maybe I should have set my goal for more patience .

I want to catch a wahoo over 30 lbs. A king mackerel over 30. A tuna over 250, all in the same day.

Catch more than a handful of fish and figure out how to use me tackle. I went a little crazy when I bought my boat. I find myself looking at my tackle and asking "what the heck is this used for"

I had good year in 2013, so my goal would be to do just as well and hopefully a tad better. That also means fishing more or fishing smarter...I hope to work on fishing smarter. Also, spending more time at the family cabin in Ontario. In many ways, I feel more complete fishing there than anywhere else.

Spend as much time on the water as I can. Learn to fish swimbaits better. But overall, finish in the overall top 30% of the field in the Fishers of Men trail for the year.

Fish more often, concentrate more on identifying specific patterns within patterns, and work on mastering my electronics.
Have fun doing all of the above.

Won three of our club TXs last year with 2 seconds telling myself just need to catch 5. Gonna go in with the same mentality this year. Instead of starting the day thinking I need '"x" amount of weight to win I just tell myself you need one keeper, then after that you need one more and so on. Really took some of the stress out of the tx day for me. So my goals are the same as last year, Catch five every time I go out, thats all I can do.
