Awesome, I hope to break 70 with some mods to my 2.5L EFI. Do you know what RPM you are spinning at 70?

Ha, Ha. I know better than to compare my boat setup to an Ally. Even the "slow" one!

That is some kick A** speed for a F&S. I have a Procraft 215 F&S with a Merc 225 EFI. I too am running a 25P Tempest Plus but not touching that speed, but then again the PC is a heavier boat. Are you running a JP and if so how high are you setting it. Has the prop been worked? Any help you can give would be great. Thanks

On my 201 Stratos FS, hyd Jackplate , 07 225 etec . I pull 70 gps loaded with gear and just me in the boat with a DAH 26 raker. I run a DAH 25 gade for skiing and all around running. That one runs upper 60's all day.

07' Champion 21Sx, 300 Vmax……. Best overall performance I have found so far is a modified Bravo1 26P. Mark Croxton added rake, cup, and PVS holes. Great holeshot with a load, good bow lift, and just overall solid performance. I can take the family out pulling a large 3-man tube or go fishing with a buddy. One prop does it all for me. Of course I always want to go faster. :-).

On my 04 Champ 21sx with 250 SHO running 25P Tempest Plus worked by Robbie Patterson best speed 70.7 on GPS at 5700 - 5800 rpms. Most days run 68 around 5550 - 5600 rpms. That is two people, tourney loaded. Prop is 3.75 inches below pad. Going to play this weekend and bring up another 1/4 of an inch and see how it does.

Wayne I am not doubting the speed since not likely the GPS is off. I would think about having the tach checked out though, you may be turning that motor at a lot higher RPMS then you are thinking. Dan is right the numbers just don't add up you would be at 1% or less slip which just does not happen. If you are running up around 6000 - 6200 rpms you would be closer to 10% slip which is realistic.

I have a Nitro Z-7 Sport with a 150 Optimax and 25P Tempest Plus. I have no problems getting on plane and GPS at 55 (when i'm not taking on water like in the other thread I started).

If I just want more speed just for the heck of it, would a jack plate help?

What are your current WOT RPMs? I've got to think they are on the low end given you have a 25p being slung by a 150 on a F&S hull...

But to answer your question yes a plate should help...and I would install a plate first then play with props.

    I agree at 6000 rpms, with a 25 p prop I am north of 75. Granted my
Prop has extra cup and hydro motives are known to be stiffer than stamped. A guy should be able to run 55 with a 19 or 21 at 6000 rpms with 1.87 gears

RPMS at 5500-5600, don't recall ever hitting 6000 but it will run that 55 with one person or 3 people.
