Ok so this is what is says but there are more than two files in that folder.
Open this folder, highlight BOTH of the files within it, and copy/paste or drag/drop the files directly to your SD card. Do not copy the actual folder or place the files into a folder on your SD card . They must be in the root drive of the SD card in order for your unit to read them. Bird Files.JPG

Copy all of the map files so they are listed individually on the memory card. Ignore the "two"
The original basemap installation was the same way.

When I did it back then, I just put one at a time on a memory card, loaded it, deleted it from the card and did the next one, etc.

No as long as it has the capacity to hold the data and is not larger than 32 GB.

    SYSTEM

    Software Prerequisites

    • You will need:
      • software version 3.500 or later (see note at top of this page)
      • a working MMC/SD reader/writer device attached to your PC and
      • a formatted 32GB Class 10 or MMC/SD card

    Instructions

In an effort to simplify the download process for individuals who own several Humminbird/Minn Kota optional add on products that are connected to the SOLIX, ONIX or ION product, we are now providing all software in one zipped file. You can own one of the above or some of them above. It is not necessary for you to delete the files of any items you do not own.

    1. Save the zipped file to your PC (this will most likely be saved in your Downloads folder)
    2. Once saved to your PC, right click on the file name and select Extract All.
    3. Once this dialog box appears, click on Extract, this will then begin the extraction and saving process. Be sure to remember the destination of the file
    4. You will then have two folder with the same name, one is zipped, the other is unzipped. Open the unzipped filed.
    5. Once you open the unzipped file, copy and paste all of these files to the SD card you plan to update your unit with. You must have at least 960 MB of free space on this card.
    6. Insert the SD card into your unit and follow your typical DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRODUCT.
    7. Occassionally you may find a file within the folder that includes the word patch. You should load the patch file to your unit also. Typically this patch will be something that fixes a bug caught late in the approval process. The patch will correct this bug.

By the way, I think there is an error on the initial Solix 3.750 update "Please Note" section. It appears to be a holdover from the previous 3.640 update as it refers to needing to update to 3.5 before going to 3.640. I assume that it should say that you need to be at 3.5 or higher before going to the 3.750. I would assume that, if you are already at the Solix 3.640 level, you could do the 3.750 update.

So from what I’ve heard the update is just for coastal maps, is that correct?

The Helix update was posted a few days ago and you just need to look back at post #381 in this thread to find the information... Or on the Humminbird Software Update web site.

I will update my Solix later today. The bug fixes concerning the zoom levels when changing screens was my biggest pet peeve with the unit so hopefully this cures that.

I did this update last night. After downloading per the instructions it seems that my 360 now turns in the opposite direction on my solix screen. And it turns very slow, I went to adjust the speed rate and that section was gone now and it says color adjustment 1,2,3,4 etc. And it does nothing that I could see.

One nice thing is being able to hit the power button twice and having it put the unit in sleep mode is great. I use that feature all the time with all the units when not in use on the water.

That is unusual. Try Restore Factory Defaults to see if that straightens out the menu.
If that doesn't fix it, contact Humminbird Customer Service, they need to know that is happening, may have to send it in for reprogramming.

Just updated a 12 HW Mega SI GPS G2N & a 9 Chirp GPS G2N to 2.28 and the network options are no longer visible in the menu. Restored factory defaults prior to the upgrade and set user mode to "custom". I've also verified my network cables are tight (they worked prior to the upgrade). Hoping I'm missing something simple. Any suggestions?

    Thanks, J

Unfortunately, no luck with the 2nd restore. Any other suggestions? I've confirmed network cable is tight on both units. Shouldn't there be a "network" row in the accessories screen that shows what is "connected" or "unconnected"? Thanks, J.

No in the Network menu is where networked devices are shown.

Sorry for adding confusion. The network menu you shared is what is no longer visable on either unit after the updates.
