A Onix question regarding the 2.300 update. I have a new Onix and did the 2.300 update and everything went well. Now I understand there is a patch that needs to be uploaded and this is what is causing me some issues. In MY HB I have downloaded the only file I see which says it is 2.300. I have it on my sd card but when I put it in the Onix there are no options for saving the file as an update, like the Onix is saying there is no change beyond what I already have in my Onix in the 2.300 file I installed previously. Am I missing something here with this patch file? Is there a 2.31 file or is the patch incorporated into the 2.300 file?

Ok so I just seen I have an update for my 899. Version 7.59. I see it says it removes quadra beam support. Does that mean I can no longer use my unit with the ice transducer? In the wintertime I have to select quad beam transducer for the ice ducer to work. Why would they get rid of that?

Are you using a Quadra-Beam in the winter??

I use a regular dual beam 200/83KHz (setting is Dual Beam or US/2) on the ice and it works well.
That XDCR is being discontinued AFAIK, maybe not the 1st time I been wrong, but the dual beam works fine for me .....

I use the XI 9 20 transducer. In the option to select transducer though I'm suppose to select quad beam for it to work. So if I download the current version, can I still use that transducer?

Doesn't appear that you can, though I would call HB support and ask if it can work with the dual beam setting - I imagine it would, but they will be able to verify.

Sfw1960 I guess I'm not sure if my unit has a dual beam selection or not, I'd have to look. But Humminbird said that the quad beam selection has been replaced with a dual beam selection in the update. So I'll update!

On most units, Dual Beam replaced US2 as a setting.

Check the list of transducer selections, you may still have Quad Beam as a choice.
