My boat is a 2000 Triton TR-20 running a Mercury 200EFI that I bought in early 2005. I normally do most of the maintenance myself, but haven't really kept up with it over the last few years because of my health problems and lack of use.
Now that's we've retired and move close to Lake Guntersville, AL, I will be using it a lot more. I wanted to make sure everything was up to date and it was running correctly as I have absolutely no plans to replace it. Don has been been so unselfish and helpful to myself and other Mercury owners here on BBC that even though there are reputable mechanics much closer, I decided to bite the bullet make the loooooooooooong tow - 645.9 miles GPS round trip - to Greenville to have Don and his crew do the maintenance.
Bobbie and I left Alabama early Tuesday morning, survived towing through Atlanta and arrived at Don's just before noon. We did the paperwork, got it unhooked and they took it inside immediately to get started. My wife and I had a quick lunch then found a motel for a quick nap. About 5:30 p.m. Don called and sadi they were done and we'd be ready to roll when they opened at 9 a.m. the next morning. The compression was great, but they'd found several minor things along with a couple that were making it run lean. They corrected everything and it's now ready for many more years of great service.
Thanks again, Don & crew.
BTW - Get well soon, Don. You didn't look or sound very good yesterday!!!
