    Rod Warranty using braided line

I usually find answers to questions using the search feature, but no luck on this one. Do rod companies stand behind rod failures when braided line was used? If my jig rod is rated 14 to 20 lb line and I'm using 50lb braid, does that void the warranty ( assuming lure wt is within spec )?

..I realize warranties vary between companies, just looking for people's personal experiences

Technically the rod shouldn't fall under warranty because you used line overrated for the rod. It's the same if you used 50# mono on a rod rated up to 12# test.

It's pretty easy to tell a rod that has failed due to being overloaded.

That said, I'm just answering on the surface. Each manufacture handles this based on their own internally policy (or who you talk to that day )
