    Question Eagle River Smallies?

I will be vacationing with my family in Eagle River in mid-June. Can anyone recommend a good lake or two that I can take my kids - 9 & 10 - to catch some good number of smallies? We will be staying on lake Voyageur. Not looking for specifics, but general info.

    Thanks ,

    Wayne

Butternut is one of the most popular in the area for smallies, know a guy who was tearing them up there last summer, I've never personally fished it. The chain is not bad fishing at times, i've had the most luck on eagle or catfish which are the two lakes on each side of voyageur.

Yep, Butternut is known for the smallies. I fished it last year, and we did pretty well. Nothing big, but good numbers, and lots of action for the kids.
