    Prop Options?

I have a 1996 Evinrude 150 pushing a 18ft. Stratos 278DC and I am in desperate need of a new prop. I called a guy and he said a Raker 24 is the best option, I just don't like the price tag. Does anybody know some other options I might have in buying one in order to get the same performance?

23 Razor, 23 Tempest Plus, 23 Renegade. What prop do you have? Mark Croxton is our prop guy and can fix anything, better than OEM and he's fast.

You'll probably get a kick out of it, but the prop on it now is a 21 Shooter 4 blade. The guy that sold the boat to me was a larger guy, I guess that's why he went with the prop.

Do you have cable steering or Hyd? The 3 blade Rakers tend to be a bit tuff to drive compared to a nice 4 blade. But the rakers tend to be a 1-3 mph faster on the top end.

Cable.. Its almost as if the 21 on it now makes it ride like a low geared truck.

I got a Raker II 24P with hub kit I might part with. Had it on a 94 Fast Strike 150 on a 1990 285 Pro. 64 mph

I run a 25 pitch on mine....everyone else seems to run 23 or 24's. I have no issues with a 25 tempest and have run 25 renegades as well as the 24 rakers. Fastest propeller is a 25 tempest with added stern lift by mark. He's building me a 25 razor to try this week with some added stern lift so we'll see how that goes. Your WOT RPM's will dictate your pitch...shoot for 5600. All props 23-25 renegades, 24 raker, 24 lightning, 24 tempest, 25 tempest all good for 63-66mph set up correctly with 6in of setback. Im a big guy too...

Do you have the intruder model or the standard evinrude?

How much for the Raker II? I have the standard evinrude. Didn't mean to relate a person's size to the 21, I'm fairly new to this so I can only go by what I'm told.

Raker II came in a 25 when they came out with the 250 HO with the other gear ratio

Cashion1 did say original and Meister was correct saying it would have to been worked to a 25 P. You are correct Mike saying the Odd pitch is available in the Raker II.

I will have to check then. I was told the new Original Raker I purchased is a 23p. It replaced what I was told is a 25p Original Raker. Prop pitch's are a new experience for me.

It is easy to tell look and the hub where the prop nut is. It will be stamped on the metal ring.
